Small pebble-textured EPNS beaker with applied plaque engraved CULLODEN 1746. Height c. 6 cm, rim c. 7 cm, weight about 50 g.

A small, pebble-textured beaker with an applied rectangular plaque engraved CULLODEN 1746 and a faint EPNS mark beneath. The body is formed from a silvery metal with a hammered, cobble-like surface and it stands roughly 6 cm high with a rim diameter of about 7 cm. The interior appears to be gilt, giving a warm contrast to the exterior. The piece shows the factory seam running vertically on one side and light wear to the plating on the high points, with some darker toning inside. The applied plaque reads clearly and the textured surface takes the light well, giving the little cup plenty of tactile character. A compact memento marking the Battle of Culloden, it will sit neatly in a cabinet of curiosities, on a mantel among Jacobiana, or as a small novelty for a bar shelf or desk.
