Small metal lidded urn, probably 20th century, with fluted body, twin ribbon handles and acorn finial. Measurements 25 x 30 x 35 cm, weight about 250 g.

A small metal lidded urn in a classical style, probably 20th century. The piece has a fluted bowl on a turned foot, twin ribbon handles and a domed lid topped with an acorn-shaped finial. Broad acanthus leaves sit across the lid and the body carries vertical reeding for a restrained, neoclassical look. The surface has a silvered finish which has dulled and darkened in the recesses. The urn shows overall surface tarnish and darker oxidation in the moulded details, with light surface scratches and small knocks to the rim and handles consistent with age. The lid sits firmly on the bowl and there are no obvious breaks to the cast decoration. Handy as a decorative trinket box on a dressing table, mantel or hallway console, it will suit someone looking for a small classical accent.
