Set of five parts from Surgery of Modern Warfare, edited by Hamilton Bailey, Third Edition, E. & S. Livingstone, 1944. Paper card covers with coloured stamped titles, illustrated throughout; each about 22.5 x 15 cm, total weight c. 2400 g.

A set of five slim parts from Surgery of Modern Warfare, edited by Hamilton Bailey and published by E. & S. Livingstone. The title page of Part II is dated 1944 and each part is stamped on the card cover as a Third Edition part. The covers are printed in different colours to denote the parts and the text includes numerous line diagrams and photographic radiographs and plates. The parts are bound in paper card covers, a practical format intended for use rather than display. One volume shows a split along the spine so the sewing is visible, while the remaining parts have intact covers and sound text blocks. Each volume measures about 22.5 x 15 cm and the set weighs about 2400 g. A useful source for a medical reference shelf, a collection of wartime manuals, or as research material for teaching and historical study.
