A mounted pheasant in a glazed, wood-framed display case, the bare case measuring 86.5 x 71 cm. The bird is posed on a vertical cork or wood stump set into a shallow circular base, surrounded by preserved fern fronds, a few model fungi and a short length of barbed wire, which gives the composition a rustic, country feel. Species: probably common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) The plumage shows rich chestnut and white patterning across the body with mottled black and white on the neck and head. The glazing is intact and the mount sits solidly in the case. There is light surface wear to the frame and a few small losses to outer wing and tail feathers consistent with age. A cabinet of curiosities piece that will sit well on a low cupboard, in a hunting lodge scheme or as a focal piece in a country sitting room. Case does need some TLC the glass is perfect Please note this is for collection only from Bishop’s Emporium
