Glazed wooden display with a pinned hawk-moth and a taxidermy coiled snake over a printed Genesis III page; approx 19.5 x 25 cm

A small glazed curiosity, comprising a pinned hawk-moth and a taxidermy coiled serpent mounted over a printed page headed The serpent deceiveth Eve, Genesis III. The upright wooden frame is painted dark and holds the elements in shallow relief under glass, the composition arranged so the moth appears to hover above the looping snake. The printed page gives the piece a narrative, cabinet-of-curiosities character. Handy on a small wall, shelf or in a display cabinet, it will suit anyone collecting natural history curios or framed Victorian style oddities.

ConditionLovely condition for its age, glazing intact and mounts secure.
