Cast iron wall plaque with three raised dog heads, base stamped 10169 and reverse impressed ENGLAND. Bare size c. 18 x 20 cm, original black paint with surface rust.

A compact cast iron wall plaque, roughly 18 x 20 cm, showing three raised animal heads set in low relief and a moulded base marked 10169. The reverse is recessed where the casting was finished and is impressed ENGLAND, suggesting a British foundry origin The original black paint remains in places. paint loss that emphasises the modelling of the faces. There is a drilled hanging hole at the top for display. The cast heads have crisp modelling and make a graphic, tactile focal point. A small, weighty piece for a mantel, hallway, kitchen or sheltered porch, it will suit anyone collecting industrial or vernacular metalwork.
