Clear cut crystal decanter, 29 cm tall overall, 19.5 cm across the base, weight about 1910 g. Broad flared base with starburst and cross-hatch cuts, with a multi-faceted teardrop stopper. Etched on base, Edinburgh crystal. 1980's.

A cut crystal, Edinburgh, ships decanter,20th century around 1980, formed with a broad, flared base rising to a gently ribbed neck and a rolled lip. The base is decorated with a central starburst surrounded by cross-hatched panels, and the original multi-faceted teardrop stopper is included. The glass is clear and the cuts remain crisp, so the piece catches light across the wide base and through the stopper. The stopper is shown separately and is present with the decanter. The overall proportions are neat, the base giving the decanter a low, elegant stance.
