A glazed earthenware handled vase marked W. Germany on the base, probably mid 20th century, measuring approximately 20 cm high by 11 cm across. The impressed mark and model number are visible on the foot, 275-20. The body carries a warm speckled amber brown glaze interrupted by three textured dark rings and broad white, wavy slip-trails that wrap the form. The neck is short with a narrow mouth and a single loop handle set neatly to the shoulder; the interior is glazed a dark brown. The piece feels solid for its size and weighs about 500 grams. Handy on a mantel, shelf or sideboard, it will sit well with other mid century ceramics or serve as a simple, characterful vase for a single stem.
