A hollow plaster cast death mask child’s head, The face is modelled with closed eyes and a softly modelled mouth; the hair is suggested by the draped moulding around the brow. A U-shaped metal hanging loop has been fitted to the back for wall display. The plaster shows the expected casting texture. The interior is plainly hollow and the back rim has irregular casting finish consistent with a studio cast. Practical for a mantel, shelf or hung on the wall, it will suit anyone after a quiet, classical cast for a curiosities cabinet or studio display.
